Nanjing is one of four ancient capitals in China. Ten dynasties or regimes took Nanjing as the Capital since the third century, and there are plenty of culture relics here. This day trip will let you explore Grand Bao'en Temple, Mt Niushou and Usnisa Palace(holy relic palace) with your local guide to learn the history and Buddhism culture. The constructions for the temple and palace are fabulous to take photos.

At 8am, your guide will meet you at your hotel lobby in centrally located Nanjing hotels with a signage writing your name. Firstly you will visit Dabao’en Temple or Grand Baoen Temple in Nanjing. It was the first Buddhism temple built in southern China about 18000 years ago. During Ming Dynasty(1368—1644AD), it was the royal temple, the Porcelain Tower in the temple was very well-known in the history. Unfortunately, the temple was destroyed in 1854 in Qing Dynasty. In 2008, there were many relics and antiques unearthed from the temple ruin. In 2010, the temple started to rebuild on its original ruin.
Afterwards you will move to the Mt Niushou, which is about 20km away from the city center of Nanjing. It is a nice park to view the woods and temples.
Located in the west peak of Niushou mountain, Usnisa Palace belongs to the pit construction, which is 220 meters long, 160 meters wide and 89.3 meters high. The single building area covers about 136,000 square meters. Usnisa means holy relic of Buddha in Sanskrit. One of the holy relics was unearthed in Grand Bao'en Temple in 2008 in Nanjing, which is stored in the Usnisa Palace on the Mt Niushou now. The fabulous construcions here are very impressive. Later, you will be transferred back to your Nanjing hotel where the day tour concludes.
