Start with a drive to Rosh Ha-Nikra (Ras Al-Naquora in Arabic) - One of the interesting geopolitical points at the Lebanese border. You will have a great view south to see the entire northern shores of our country. Then take the cable car down to the rocky beach and visit the naturally created fascinating tunnels and caves to enjoy the turquoise-colored Mediterranean sea waters with the waves "gushing" into the caves.
A wonderful hike along the cliff of the "Arch Cave" park (Ma’arat Keshet in Hebrew) offers another stunning view of the northern shores of our country as well as the western side of the upper Galilee. You will stand on top of the cave arch, what remains of this natural karstic cave roof. It is a unique huge arch of rocks standing high above the valley below the cave.
Take your shoes off, roll up your pants and make a few tens of yards hike in the refreshing waters (1-2 feet deep) of the Hardalit spring. It is a walk in paradise but on earth. The attached photos will better speak for the experience
Then drive south by afternoon time to Acre (Akko). On the way, you have a possibility to visit the Bahai Gardens, called Al-Bahjeh. It is where the founder of the Bahai faith is buried. Listen to the amazing “tail” about this sect and its history and culture.
Acre is an ancient strategic port city after Joppa. As time permits, we may have a chance to visit various sites, among them the northern wall which stood unbeatable before Napoleon Bonaparte, then a step down to the Crusaders Hospitaller fortress to explore the lifestyle of these Crusader monks. The journey in Acre may continue with a walk in the old city through its old market and more stops next to the Soufee's (Muslim mystical) school, and a walk along the southern walls overlooking the Haifa Bay, ending in the Fishermen Port. The possibility of a Mediterranean fish meal (late lunch or early dinner) in one of the restaurants overlooking the Mediterranean sea adds a wonderful taste of a culinary journey next to the nature-oriented and historical one.
