Welcome to JamRock!
Join us as we retrace the inspirational journey of Jamaica’s celebrated artist and King of Reggae. Through his message of love, brotherhood, and kindness, the One Love composer has left behind a legacy within which we too are able to partake.
A true King indeed, Bob is beloved by many and referenced by true musicians and activists. This total experience is sure to warm your hearts, open your minds, educate, and deepen your understanding and appreciation for this musical hero.
Arrangements for pickup will be made once booking is made.
We begin and depart in the morning, cruising along the scenic north coast highway southbound through the beautiful parish of St. Ann to the first of our targeted attractions in the community of Nine Miles. On this tour you will relive the genius and influence as we begin at the Bob Mausoleum. We will visit Bob Marley’s first home also serving as his getaway retreat during his riveting musical career and now his (and his mother’s) final resting place.
This scintillating excursion will take us into the capital city of Kingston where we visit and tour the Tuff Gong Recording Studio. It is here that Bob and the Wailers recorded their albums. We may even run into one of his sons in a live recording session!
Following this is a brief tour of Trench Town “Culture Yard”, where Bob also lived along with his mother and newly extended family. Trench Town is where he found worthwhile friends (such as Bunny Livingston and Peter Tosh) and found inspirations for his music and way of life.
Next stop is Devon House for lunch and refreshments. The Devon House is a source of pride for the city. The mansion was constructed in 1881 by Jamaica’s first black millionaire, George Stiebel, who made his fortune in Venezuelan gold. The courtyard behind the Devon House is full of boutiques and restaurants, including the famous ‘Jamaican’ patties.
Our final stop will be the Bob Marley Museum where his life and legacy has been conserved for us to explore. His home, were he lived during his very successful musical career, was sold to him by his then producer, Chris Blackwell, and now exhibits memorabilia of the monumental era.
