Triund trek is one of the shortest and easiest Himalayan treks with Day Hike to Triund: A day hike to Triund is considered one of the most popular trekking destinations in the Dharamshala region of India. This moderately challenging trek offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding snow-capped Dhauladhar mountains, lush green valleys, and vibrant rhododendron forests. The trail starts from McLeod Ganj and ascends approximately 9 kilometers to reach Triund, with an elevation gain of around 1,100 meters. Along the way, trekkers pass through quaint villages, grazing pastures, and rocky terrain before reaching the picturesque campsite at Triund. This day hike is suitable for beginner to intermediate level trekkers and can be completed in about 4-5 hours one way. From McLeod Ganj it is 3/4 hours steep ascent to Triund. Small tea shops on the way can provide good refreshments. Triund is an alpine meadow situates atop a flat ridge with fine views of peaks of Dhauladhars on one side an Kangra valley on the other side. After light lunch at Triund start descending to McLeod Ganj.
