The monarch (Danaus plexippus) is perhaps the most well known of all American butterflies.

The Monarch Butterfly is famous for it's migration, which is said to be one of the most fascinating phenomenons of the natural world.
Originating in southern Canada and the United States, they travel to overwintering and mountainous sites in central Mexico. This process covers the lifespan of three to four generations of the butterfly.

Join us on an incredible 3 day, 2 night journey, to experience the Colonial Towns of Pátzcuaro, Santa Clara del Cobre (copper town), and Morelia.

    Pátzcuaro is a large town and municipality located in the state of Michoacán. The town was founded sometime in the 1320s, at first becoming the capital of the Tarascan state and later its ceremonial center. In Pátzcuaro we will visit the 11 patios exconvent, also the basilica of Patzcuaro.

    Santa Clara del Cobre is a Magical town and municipality located in the center of the state of Michoacán, Mexico, 18 km from Pátzcuaro and 79 km from the state capital of Morelia. In Santa Clara del cobre we will visit the copper gallery, the copper museum and the copper factory.

    After breakfast at the hotel, we will tour the historical downtown area. We will stop at the Cathedral and tour the candy markets. Then we will return to Patzcuaro where we will enjoy lunch at the mirador (not included). After lunch we will have free time to explore the city center and then return back to Zihuatanejo
