Ostia was a city of the Latium vetus, port of the city of Rome, located near the mouth of the Tiber river. First Roman colony founded in the 7th century BC. by the king of Rome Anco Marzio.The Archaeological Park of Ostia Antica is today one of the largest and most important archaeological areas in Italy, second in size only to Pompeii and capable of offering the visitor an authentic immersion in an ancient Roman city surrounded from the luxuriant Mediterranean nature.
