Today it is time to head onto see one of the most amazing sights you will see throughout Turkey – Cappadocia. You will be collected from your accommodation in Istanbul and transferred out to the airport to catch your flight onto this amazing region. On arrival there you will also be collected and transferred door to door to your accommodation in Cappadocia.
We stop at the Esentepe vista viewpoint, located between Uchisar and Goreme. This stunning panorama provides breathtaking views of the town of Esentepe and the surrounding landscape of fairy chimneys.
We will begin at the Goreme Open Air Museum, an impressive collection of monasteries, churches and chapels that date back to the Middle Ages. The site served as an important Christian center of learning. Visitors can marvel at its religious buildings, which still exhibit elaborate and beautifully preserved frescoes.
We will then have time to explore the Monks Valley, famed for its three-headed fairy chimneys. This region of is also known as Pasabag, or “Pasha’s Vineyard,” for its stunning earth pillars located within a vineyard.
A short drive will take us to the surreal Devrent Valley, famed for its almost lunar landscape of small, pointed fairy chimneys. VIsitors will get a chance to explore the valley and take in its astounding formations.
Our final destination is the small town of Avanos, home to a terracotta industry dating back to 3000 BC. Potters source clay from the Red River that winds through town. Tour visitors we will have the opportunity to visit a traditional pottery workshop and witness the excellent craftsmanship firsthand.
The huge phallic formations of Love Valley have been formed naturally thanks to erosion of the volcanic rock, approximately 9 to 3 million years ago. Some formations are up to 40 meters high ! Love Valley presents visitors an unusual landscape of cones, pillars, pinnacles, mushrooms and 'fairy tale chimneys'.
Today is your chance to take in more of the amazing region with the South Cappadocia Tour. Today is really focused on the many beautiful valleys that make up Cappadocia.
Rose Valley, is one of the most popular and you will see how it gets its name from its beautiful rose coloured rocks.
There is Red Valley that has its many paths leading to hidden churches and into the other valleys.
Pigeon Valley is named after all the pigeon homes that have been dug into the rock formations giving it all the unique look it holds onto today.
Another major highlight of your tour today is your visit into one of the Underground City. These are something that will really capture you. Dug out for the fleeing Christians to hide from persecution, then are engineering marvel of their time. They are so well laid out that it was not only for themselves, but also livestock and store all their food, wine and water. After spending sometime underground it will be time to get back out and enjoy the wide open spaces of Meskendir Valley.
It is time to take a short stroll and enjoy the fresh air again. Another stop today is a visit to the most ancient settlement in the area Cavusin Valley
Another one last photo opportunity overlooking the panoramic view of Uchisar Castle. You will be dropped back to your hotel around 17:00 PM where you have a few hours to enjoy some down time before you are collected again.
We will pick you up around 19:30/20:00 pm for Turkish Night. This is a fun night to enjoy absorbing up some of the traditional Turkish dancing. Turks will find a reason to dance for almost anything. Tonight you will get to witness the beautiful historical entertainment before having a fun filled night of mock wedding dances, belly dancing and much more. The night will end around midnight where you will be dropped back to your accommodation.
The Cappadocia landscape is a stunning place to view especially if you head to areas off the beaten track. Throughout Cappadocia’s landscape and ‘Fairy’s Chimneys’ are paths that are able to take on an ATV (Quad) bike. Tours like these offer exciting days to explore the hills and valleys of Cappadocia, getting to see the best vistas. ATV tours usually last 2 hours and include a tour guide on a separate ATV. Vehicles are easy to use, fully automatic, allowing any experience to use. The trails have been specially created to be fun and challenging but not to frighten. Return to Istanbul The day will end around 17:00 PM where you will then later on be transferred back to the airport in Cappadocia to fly back into Istanbul. From Istanbul airport you will be transferred directly to your accommodation.
