Cappadocia is one of the most mesmerising and magical landscapes you will ever witness in your life and what better way than to capture it all from the air. You will be collected before sunrise to enjoy watching the sun come up as you take off in your hot air balloon. An experience not to miss.
The town of Goreme, an important Christian center in the early years of the Middle Ages, now houses a vast number of monasteries, churches and chapels. The Open Air Museum houses an exemplary array of these cave churches, featuring impressive frescoes dating back to centuries before.
Pasabag is the best place to see the famous three-headed fairy chimney. Pasabag, also known as the Pasha's Vineyard, is surrounded by the stunning scenery of incredible, natural rock formations.
Situated on the northern slopes of Aktepe, 1 km from Pasabaglari (Monk's Valley) and 5 km from Avanos, the ruins at Devrent Valley spread over three valleys that also house several pointed fairy chimneys with large stems.
A traditional pottery workshop is an experience not to be missed, given the ubiquitous pottery you’ll see all around Cappadocia. Set deep into the hillside, Avanos has been a center for terracotta works of art since 3000 B.C. The Red River clay used by potters gives life both to the land and to the local economy.
The huge phallic formations of Love Valley have been formed naturally thanks to erosion of the volcanic rock, approximately 9 to 3 million years ago. Some formations are up to 40 meters high ! Love Valley presents visitors an unusual landscape of cones, pillars, pinnacles, mushrooms and 'fairy tale chimneys'.
Today is another action packed day with lots more still to see with the South Cappadocia Tour. This is the day to visit many of the beautiful valleys that make up Cappadocia. There is Rose Valley, named after the beautiful rose coloured rocks.
Red Valley with all its many paths leading to hidden churches.
Pigeon Valley that showcase all the pigeon homes that have been dug into the rock formations giving it all the unique look it holds onto today.
Today one of the other major highlights is your visit into the Underground City. These cities were dug out for the fleeing Christians to hide from persecution. They are well crafted to house not only themselves, but also livestock and store all their food, wine and water. You will marvel at the engineering of these ancient times. After being underground it will be time to enjoy the wide open spaces with a short stroll through Meskendir Valley.
You will also take in the most ancient settlement in the area with a stop at Cavusin Valley
Another photo opportunity with a visit to the panoramic view over Uchisar Castle.
The tour will end around 17:00 PM where you will then have time before being transferred back to your hotel to fly back onto Istanbul. From your airport arrival in Istanbul, you will be transferred onto your accommodation there.
