    Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou

    Ait Ben Haddou is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located at the base of the High Atlas Mountains in Ouarzazate Province. It is the most renowned ksar (fortified village) in the Ounila Valley and a prime example of traditional pre-Saharan earthen architecture in southern Morocco. Mostly built in the 17th century, the ksar features clustered homes—some simple, others resembling small castles—within defensive walls.
