We will start in the medieval Village of Evora and do a loop ride where we will finish with a glass of wine, of coarse!
After a good sleep in Évora, we will travel in time going through small villages until we reach the medieval town of Monsaraz. Sleeping over in Monsaraz is a privilege to have this village quiet, just for you to enjoy after the tourists came for the day visit.
Leaving Monsaraz behind we would think there is not much yet to see, but you will be wrong. We will head today to to Vila Viçosa where you will discover why this little village was chosen by the kings of Portugal to make it their second home. Our hotel could not represent the region better with its marble walls, a stone very abundant around there.
Today its tourism time! We will have a relaxed breakfast, and then visit Vila Viçosa and it’s palace. After lunch we will ride to Estremoz (just a 25 km ride) to visit the tiles Museum. We will sleep in Estremoz Castle.
Leaving the breakfast table will be tough, but good things will come. Today we will have a relaxed ride to Vila Galé Real Hotel, a typical Alentejo Horse Farm that was made into this beautiful hotel.
Marvão is one of those places, lets put it like that. Climbing the last 270m with gradient of +9% will be rewarding. If you have the time, I suggest we stay overnight in this village to have one of the most amazing sunsets.
