Georgia is believed to be the cradle of wine with the oldest wine amphoras found here dating 8000 years back. These amphoras, called Qvevri, are essential to a unique wine making process, which is known worldwide as Georgian wine making method.
On this tour you will not only taste traditionally made wines, but also see how Qvevri vessels are made and visit the authentic wine cellars, called Marani.
You will visit at least 3 different style wineries for touring and tasting and you can select to add a traditional Kakhetian lunch to your experience.

Your guide will meet you at your hotel or Airbnb and from there you will travel eastwards - to the most famous wine region of Georgia - Kakheti.
Your first stop is in Badiauri, a small village famous for its traditional bread and mountain cheese - you are welcome to watch the process of bread baking and taste fresh Kakhetian bread and cheese.
Our first winery is located in the very heart of the charming town of Signagi, known as the City of love. Here you you will taste 4 types of natural wines, made traditionally in a Qvevri amphora, while enjoying the beautiful view over the rooftops of Signagi, the endless Alazani valley and the majestic Caucasian mountains on horizon.
After driving through small villages of Kardenakhi and Chumlaki, you will reach a beautiful Wine Chateau, where you will have another wine tasting with a view and a delicious traditional lunch (optionally)
Telavi is the central town of Kakheti region and a hub of the best organic wineries. You are welcome to tour the charming old town and sample and shop at the local market for the best regional products before continuing your journey or visiting a traditional natural winery for lunch with wine tasting (optionally)
After Telavi, you will go to visit one of the last Qvevri makers in Georgia. Qvevris are traditional handcrafted clay amphoras, that are used to make Georgian style amber and red wines. Here you can see the workshop of Qvevri master and taste his wines. The road back to Tbilisi leads through a wonderful mountain pass, where you can stop to enjoy the panorama.
