Guided tour of the Levantine Synagogue and Spanish Synagogue in Venice. While the main exhibition of the Jewish Museum (Museo Ebraico) is temporarily closed for renovation, the museum offers a chance to tour 2 of its synagogues in the historic Jewish Ghetto. This is your chance to experience the living history of the oldest ghetto in the world as you admire the gracious interiors of the Levantine and Spanish Synagogues. Both were built in the 16th century and rebuilt in the 17th century by great architects and artists who knew how to make use of the limited space in the overcrowded Ghetto. They are the soul of Jewish Venice, hidden on top floors of the Venetian “skyscrapers”. Your Expert Guide will help you understand what’s so unique about them and how they have served the local Jewish population during the years of segregation. It’s an essential experience for those interested in Jewish culture and architecture.

- The main exhibition of the Jewish Museum is closed for renovation until further notice. In the meantime, the guided tour will include a visit to the Levantine Synagogue and the Spanish Synagogue from Sunday to Thursday, and the Levantine synagogue and the Luzzatto midrash on Friday.
- Due to local regulations, the group size is limited to a maximum of 10 guests per guide. Additional guides will be arranged for larger groups.
