2Basilica San Miniato al Monte
Visit Piazzale Michelangelo and the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte. You will meet your Private Guide near Piazza Poggi and go up the "Poggi Ramps" to Piazzale Michelangelo, an elegant 19th century square built by architect Giuseppe Poggi and dedicated to the Renaissance sculptor Michelangelo. It is full of replicas of Michelangelo statues, including a second copy of the David. The terrace is the most popular place to enjoy the sunset in Florence. At any time of the day, Piazzale Michelangelo offers an unparalleled view of the historic center and its many towers, domes and bridges. - Piazzale Michelangelo is located up a hill so it's best to wear comfortable shoes as you will walk a lot.
- The Basilica San Miniato al Monte is open from 9:30 AM to 1 PM; 3 PM to 7 PM on Monday-Saturday and from 8:15 AM to 1 PM; 3 PM to 7 PM on Sunday. Please book a tour that covers these hours if you wish to visit the church.
- Guided tours inside the Basilica during masses and scheduled events are limited. If the church is closed, the guide will provide all information outside.
- It is advised to cover your shoulders and knees when visiting the churches in Florence. Please behave and dress appropriately and note that there are security checks in some churches.
- For the comfort of all guests, it is best to have 1 licensed guide per maximum of 25 guests. If there are 26-50 people in your group, we will provide the service of 2 licensed guides so that all guests can get the best experience, ask questions and hear the guide well.
