2Museum and Crypt of Capuchins Friars
Visit the Capuchin Crypt and Museum with a 5-Star Licensed Guide. During this private experience you will explore the underground chapels beneath the Church of Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini. This unusual catacomb is decorated with real skeletons of around 4,000 friars of the Capuchin order, arranged in sculptures, lamps, mosaic-like shapes and various religious symbols. It's a thought provoking space with an interesting philosophy behind it. Your Expert Guide will introduce you to the medieval concept of ‘Memento Mori’ and the crypt’s fascinating history, along with interesting facts about the humanitarian work of the Capuchin order. 3Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major
Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, one of the Seven Pilgrim Churches of Rome. Santa Maria Maggiore is a Major papal basilica and the largest Catholic Marian church in town, so it's a great place to learn about Mariology and the Pope’s relation to Rome. Your Expert Guide will tell you the legend of Our Lady of the Snows and show you Salus Populi Romani and other treasures of this famous basilica. It will be a great experience after your visit to the Capuchin Crypt!

- Please note that the number of attractions depends on the selected option. Private car transfers and the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore are not included in a 2-hour tour.
- Skip-the-line tickets to the Capuchin Crypt and Museum are reserved for a specific time slot so it's important to arrive at the meeting point on time. You can skip the queue at the ticket office but there may be a queue for ticket validation and security checks.
- Headsets / whispers will be provided for groups larger than 10 people inside the Capuchin Crypt and Museum, and for groups larger than 7 people inside the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore.
- Guided tours inside the churches during masses and scheduled events are limited. If entry is not possible, the guide will provide all information outside. It is advised to cover your shoulders and knees when visiting the churches in Rome. There are security checks in some churches.
- The 3,5- and 4,5-hour options include an estimated 1,5-hour round-trip transfer time between the meeting point and the accommodation address provided when booking. Please note that the transfer time quoted is for information purposes only and can take longer or shorter depending on the distance and traffic.
- We will arrange private transfers in a standard car (sedan) for groups of 1-4 people, and in a larger van for groups of 5 people and more. If you're traveling in a smaller group but want to travel in a more spacious car, we recommend booking a 5-people tour to take advantage of a larger vehicle.
- Due to the Capuchin Crypt and Museum's rules, 1 licensed guide can show a group of 1-15 people, so the price of the extended tour will be higher if you need more than 1 guide. For 16-30 people we will provide the service of 2 licensed guides.
