Picasso’s family moved to Barcelona in 1895 after the death of his little sister, and he began his artistic journey there. You will see Carrer d'Avinyo, where he visited prostitute women who later became the inspiration for his masterpiece ‘The Young Ladies of Avignon’, and Carrer dels Escudellers, where he had a studio in 1899.
The tour will continue along the seafront Passeig de Colom, where you will see the former residence of Picasso’s first wife, the Russian ballerina Olga Khokhlova. You will pass Roy Lichtenstein’s abstract sculpture El Cap de Barcelona, the Royal Academy of Arts where Picasso attended, and the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar.
