The 6 Days Poon Hill Sunrise View Trek offers marvelous views of the morning sunrays dancing with the giant beautiful Himalayas. From the top of Poon Hill, we can see the splendid views of mountain ranges like Annapurna and Dhaulagiri including an 8000-meter peak, Dhaulagiri.

During the trek, we will pass by beautiful trails of rhododendron forests, rivers, bridges, and lively villages of welcoming locals. Overall this is an amazing trek offering great mountain views and cultural experiences.

    Day 1

    Drive from Kathmandu (1350m) to Pokhara (825m) on a tourist bus, 8 hours drive

    Trishuli

    Today we will be taking an 8-hour scenic ride from Kathmandu to Pokhara on a tourist bus. We will pass by the Trishuli and Marsyangdi rivers enjoying the views of towns and villages.

    A small riverside settlement with lovely views over the Trsihuli River and a popular lunch spot while on the Kathmandu to Pokhara drive.

    Pokhara Lakeside

    After spending 8 hours on the tourist bus, we will arrive at this beautiful lake town of Pokhara where we will be spending the night. Upon arrival, we will be greeted by the panoramic view of the Annapurna mountain range.

    Drive to Hille (1460 m) on a jeep and trek to Ulleri (2020m), 3 hours drive and 2 hours trek

    Hille is a beautiful village and the starting point of our trek.

    Tikhedhunga

    Tikhedhunga is a small settlement near the river. It is our second spot before reaching Ulleri. From here, we will cross the suspension bridge and walk uphill to Ulleri.

    Ulleri is where we will spend our night. Also, the first night of our trek. It is a quiet village with traditional houses and lodges.

    Trek to Ghorepani (2860m), 4 hours

    Ghorepani

    Ghorepani is a big settlement full of colorful lodges located just below the famous Poon Hill (3210m). It is a popular resting place for trekkers. The magnificent view of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range can be seen from here.

    Early morning hike to Poon Hill (3210m) and trek to Tadapani (2675m), 7 hours

    Poon Hill

    Early in the morning, we will take a 45 minutes hike to the famous vantage point of Poon Hill (3210m). From here, we will be enjoying the wonderful sunrise over the splendid Himalayas. We can see various mountain ranges including the 7th highest peak of the world, Dhaulagiri (8167m). Some other notable peaks that we can see are Annapurna South (7219m), Hiunchuli (6442m), Machhapuchre (6997m), etc. After having a wonderful time, we will hike down to Ghorepani, have breakfast, and continue our trek to Tadapani.

    Tadapani (2675m) is a small settlement with lodges and teahouses. We walk through ridges, viewpoints, lush rhododendron forests, and small settlements from Ghorepani to arrive here.

    Trek to Ghandruk (1940m) and drive to Pokhara (825m) on a jeep, 3 hours trek and 4 hours drive

    Ghandruk

    Ghandruk is a beautiful Gurung village full of traditional houses and lodges with beautiful mountain views. It is the ending point of our trek. We will have lunch and explore around the villages for some time. We can observe the local traditions and lifestyle here. Then, we will take a jeep to Pokhara.

    Pokhara

    After spending some time in Ghandruk, we will take a Jeep and arrive at Pokhara after a 4 hour of ride. In the evening time, we can stroll around the beautiful lakeside area. We will have a dinner together as a celebration of the successful completion of the trek.

    Drive to Kathmandu (1350m) on a tourist bus, 8 hours

    Trishuli

    After completing the beautiful Poon Hill Trek, we will return to Kathmandu on a tourist bus. We will be driving through the scenic highway alongside the Marsyangdi and Trishuli rivers.
