Join this journey to the disappearing Aral Sea with this overnight tour. Leaving from Nukus, travel through rocky deserts, dried seas, and medieval towns before arriving at the Ustyurt Plateau. Spend the night in a cozy and conventional Karakalpak yurt. As the sun rises over the Aral Sea in the morning, take in the breathtaking scenery.

We will take a long drive to Myunak from Nukus (2.5h /202 km). When you arrive in Muynak, the first stop on your Jeep adventure will be the infamous ship cemetery of Moynak (Muynaq).
From the cemetery, we will drive to the Museum of Regional History and the Aral Sea in Muynak City (5 minutes, 2.5 km). The regional history and Aral Sea museum introduces visitors to one-of-a-kind exhibits, household items, artifacts, paintings by Soviet artists, and what the Aral Sea was and is today. The museum also provides guests with a short documentary film about Muynak's life in the past.
After lunch at the guest house in Muynak, we will drive to the Aral Sea (4 hours, 180 kilometers). On the way, you will visit the cemetery of nomads who lived in that area at one point and take wonderful pictures of the Great Canyon. Upon arrival at the Aral Sea shore, check into your yurt camp and rest. You can take a swim if the weather is warm. Take photos of millions of stars.
You will wake up early to take pictures of the sunrise over the sea. After breakfast, we drive to the Ustyurt Plateau to see the settlement "Komsomolsk" (50 km/1 h). Here you can take pictures of camels and horses, as well as taste the fresh natural camel milk in the village.
We drive from Komsomolks Settlement to Sudochye Lake (60 km/1 hour). Upon arrival at the lake, we stop at the ancient Light House hill. Here you can see the ruins of a hospital, cane houses, and an ancient fish factory. Guests can speak with fishermen who are currently fishing and observe the various types of birds that live there.
We will transport you from Sudochie Lake to Kungrad district for lunch (100 kilometers/2 hours off road). After having lunch in Kungrad district, we drive to the Mizdakhan necropolis (100 km/1h30m). The Giaur-Kala fortress is an ancient cemetery and an archaeological complex with many mausoleums, including the mausoleum of Princess Mazlumkhan Sulu and the mausoleum of Shamun Nabi. After seeing places of sight, we drive to Nukus from Mizdakhan (22 km, 30 min).
