    The tree-lined shores, tiny islets, and blue-green waters of Gatún Lake (Lago Gatún) now cover what was once the fertile Chagres River Valley. In 1913, Gatún Lake became the largest artificial lake, supported by the biggest dam in the world. Today, it remains an essential part of the renowned Panama Canal.

    We are going on a boat trip across the lake to visit the Embera village, Embera drua is just one of the four indigenous communities that we can choose to visit on this trip . During our visit, we will learn about their traditions and how indigenous people live in the village. Additionally, we will enjoy a local lunch consisting of fried plantains with tilapia. We will take a guided tour through the village, visit their craft market, and watch a traditional dance show the indigenous people perform.
