From the village of Casal de São Simão to Tomar it takes 30 minutes. Discover Tomar's well-preserved medieval and Renaissance architecture as you wander through its Historical Center. Situated in the heart of Tomar's historic center, the Republic Square has been a central hub of the city for centuries, reflecting Tomar's rich history as a stronghold of the Knights Templar and later as a significant Renaissance city. Located adjacent to the square, visit the Church of São João Baptista, exemplifying Manueline architecture.
We will also visit the Tomar Sephardic Synagogue, one of the oldest synagogues in Europe, along with its restored Mikveh.
