With the help of the native, you will discover the unique flavors of local cooking while learning about traditional ways of life. As part of the class you will learn how to make local coffee and other typical dishes.

In addition to seeing banana fields, visit coffee farms. After processing your own coffee, enjoy a cup. On the slopes of Mount Meru, the Nguruma hamlet of the Meru people have been cultivating coffee for more than a century. Visit the fields of our neighborhood coffee farmers to learn about the history of coffee, how it is grown and harvested, and how to extract coffee from the plant.

What to expect

Visit the coffee farms as well as banana plantations and then process your own coffee and celebrate the cup of coffee. The Meru people of Nguruma village have been growing coffee on the slopes of Mt Meru for more than 100 years. Come, visit the fields of our local coffee- growers, and learn about the origins of coffee, how to plant and harvest, and what it takes to get coffee from its plant.
