We will arrive at the Santa Cruz Huatulco pantheon, where those who wish can paint their faces as Catrina or Catrín to experience the tradition from within. Meanwhile, the rest of the group will continue touring the pantheon and learning about the customs that bring this celebration to life. Afterward, we will visit the Pantheon of Santa María Huatulco, the indigenous town of Bahías de Huatulco, to discover and compare how these traditions are lived in each place.

    Santa Maria Huatulco

As a second stop, we will go to the municipal pantheon of Santa María Huatulco, the indigenous town of Bahías de Huatulco. From the entrance we can admire the decorations, altars, and offerings, full of cempasúchil flowers and candles. Here we will live one of the most special moments of the tour: together we will decorate a forgotten tomb, so that whoever rests there also receives flowers and light on this very significant night.

To close the tour, we will visit the home of a local family who will open their doors to show us their altar. There they will share the history of their ancestors and the meaning of each element of the offering, while we enjoy tamales, chocolate, coffee, and pan de muerto, as is customary on these dates.
