What to expect

Backcountry skiing takes place on natural, ungroomed terrain — unlike the maintained slopes of a ski resort. You'll climb under your own power, and the thrill and joy of skiing or snowboarding down is truly incomparable. It's an experience unlike any other, and you're sure to get hooked. Since you'll be facing nature directly, there are inherent risks, including the occasional danger of avalanches, so please listen carefully to your guide's judgment.
