What to expect

You will carve your name in seal script on natural stone called Rohseki. Seal carving was introduced to Japan from the Song and Ming dynasties of China during the Edo period and became a big trend among artists. You can experience creating your own unique seal that exists nowhere else in the world. Children can also participate, making it a wonderful souvenir. It can be used for a wide range of purposes, such as stamping on calligraphy, paintings, or letters. This is an experience where you can feel the downtown and everyday life of Otaru up close. It is a 6-minute walk from JR Otaru Station, so you can walk to the experience location.
