What to expect
The Ebetsu Brick, registered as a Hokkaido Heritage asset, once accounted for nearly 50% of all brick production in Japan at its peak.
These bricks have been used in the restoration of Sapporo’s Red Brick Government Building and in parts of the Hokkaido Ballpark F Village.
Because the factories do not operate during winter, visitors can enjoy a special, limited-season experience.
In addition to touring one of Japan’s leading brick-production sites, you will assemble a kiln using uniquely shaped bricks and grill local Ebetsu ingredients with your own hands.
Enjoy a moment filled with the warmth of winter in Hokkaido and discover over 130 years of brick-making history.
As temperatures are low in winter, please dress warmly.
