What to expect

In Iwamizawa City, just under an hour by train from Sapporo, you can experience pottery making at Hokkaido's oldest kiln. Using a potter’s wheel, you can create your own piece and choose from distinctive deep blue or white colors for the finish. After firing, the pottery will be mailed to you, and you will be required to pay for shipping locally (estimated shipping cost: JPY 5,000–10,000). In 2-3 months, the unique pottery you made will arrive at your home. Enjoy a 2-hour experience filled with laughter, where you will interact with the kiln's staff and learn about pottery making.
