This day starts with a transfer from Moshi town to Machame gate, after checkin to the park is completed, a trek starts steadily and passes through a dense rainforest. During this section of the hike, you should expect rain, mud, and fog. Also, be on the look out for wildlife, including Colobus monkeys
A hiking in this da leads to vegetation scarcer landscape of Shira Plateau. The trais ascend on to land of heath and giant groundsels. The beautiful view of the peak of mountain starts to be viewed here.
After a steadily walk on high moorland, the ridgelines of high desert the trek behaviour. the trek pass through Lava Tower and set its destination at Baranco Camp. Spending day time at lava tower altitude (up to 4600m) help to aclimatize and follows the rule of "walk high sleep low"
CampTrek starts at bottom of the Great Barranco where gorgeous views of waterfalls are seen. Trek continoues up to the Great Barranco Wall famoulsy known as "Breakfast Wall", it is a exhausting climb which paasing underneath the Heim and Kersten glaciers and headed towards the Karanga valley. Steeper climb leads the trails through Karanga valley up to Karanga Camp for overnight. A walk to 4200m can be done on the evening to ensure enough acclimatization
Camp is set on an exposed flat ridge with no vegetation around at all, it is a base camp from which you will make your summit attempt at midnight. It’s a tough steep walk made more difficult by the altitude due to temperatures decline and landscapes grow sparse.Keeping yourself hydrated and warm is an important role to sustain the weather at this camp.
After six hours of walking steadily towards summit galciers, you'll come at Stela Point(5739m) near the crater rim. The first rays of sun will be seen. Ice cliffs sarrounds this place. After couple of minutes, you will reach the peak Of Kilimanjaro then descend back to Barafu Camp for lunch and head to Mweka camp for overnight.
A last gently walk of the trek through rainforest to to Mweka Gate, giving farewell to the crew and transfer to hotel for ovenight stay.
