    NATUWA Wildlife Sanctuary provides refuge and protection to the wild animals that have been victimized by human actions, such as hunting, removal from their environments, and deforestation. In this stop your tour guide will give explications of each animal that you will see in the rescue center.

    History of Esparza The second oldest city in Costa Rica, Esparza was founded by Spanish explorers in the year 1574. Originally the initial site chosen for the foundation of the city of Esparza chosen by the Spanish is located on a cliff overlooking the Nicoya Peninsula , but the site was abandoned and moved inland to protect itself from any potential attack. Other attractions of this city are the Catholic Temple, which dates back to colonial times; the Cambalache Bridge, where the railroad that went to the Pacific used to pass; or the commercial area it has, so that tourists and residents of the city can buy local Costa Rican products at the fresh fruit and vegetable markets that are established every Saturday in the city.
