The Alcázar or castle of Toledo was commisioned by Emperour Charles V in the 16th century and totaly rebuilt after the Spanish Civil war.

There are several sites in Toledo where you can discover the works of El Greco, the famous 16th century painter who spent much of his life here in Toledo, but his masterpiece can only be seen in this tiny church. The Jewish Quarter is one of Toledo’s most authentic neighborhoods. It retains some of its original character from when it was home to Spain’s most prominent Jewish community in the 12th and 13th centuries. We’ll visit the Synagogue of Santa Mª La Blanca which is the oldest synagogue in Toledo, dating from the early 13th century and which was made a Catholic church in the 15th century.
Built in the 13th century, this was one of the former synagogues of the city of Toledo, the principal one until 1391. Its moorish architecture reflects the mixure of the 3 cultures coexisting in the city for centuries
Walking tour to explore the city. The whole city is an open air museum. You will be explained about the famous Toledo's handicraft: damascene ware (plates, pendants, bracelets and other objects are decorated with gold and silver thread), swords, ceramic, etc. You will have 1.30 hour aprox free time for lunch and shopping.
We will reach Toledo using a private vehicle. Usually it takes 1 hour the driving Madrid-Toledo.
