Located high in the Taurus Mountains (1,250m), Selge offers a unique blend of rugged Roman ruins and authentic Turkish village life. Integrated into Altınkaya village, ancient columns stand beside local houses and grazing goats. Key Sights & Landmarks: Roman Theater: The site's crown jewel is remarkably well-preserved, seating 9,000. Its "Horseshoe" shape offers panoramic mountain views. Temples of Zeus and Artemis: Located on the acropolis, these ruins showcase the city’s religious significance through surviving foundations and columns. Agora & Market Square: The heart of trade where outlines of shops once selling olives, wine, and medicinal herbs remain visible. Necropolis: To the north lies the ancient cemetery featuring stone sarcophagi and rock-carved monuments. Ancient Gates & Walls: Roughly 350 meters of original city walls still stand, marking the entrance to the northern settlement. It's a rare, lived-in historical site.
