Once known as King Louis XIII's old hunting pavilion, it was later extended and embellished by his son, Louis XIV. In 1682, he installed the Court and government set up there. Today’s date, the Palace of Versailles contains a total of 2,300 rooms spread over 63,154 m2.

  • The garden closes by 5:30 p.m. on specific days - May 28, every Saturday from June 11 to September 24, July 14, and October 30.
  • Make sure you arrive at the Versailles tour meeting point 15 minutes early. If you are late for the tour, no refund can be processed.
