Starting outside of Idaho Springs, near the historic biker bar Kermit’s, made famous by writer Hunter S Thompson, this is the “Classic” Advanced Canyon, following US Route 6 through Clear Creek Canyon Park to Golden. Plunging over Upper and Lower Beaver falls will get your attention but they are just the start. You will go through the steepest section of rapids commercially available in Colorado! Guide Ejector, Double Knife, Hells ½ mile (Hell's Corner and Deep Hell) followed immediately by the Terminators will drop you over 150 vertical feet in less than a mile. This steep, continuous and technical section of Clear Creek boasts an average gradient of over 100 ’ per mile and is the most extreme ½ day whitewater rafting near Denver!

The Lower Clear Creek (Advanced) trip meets and begins just outside Idaho Springs, near the historic biker bar Kermit’s (a well‑known landmark made famous by writer Hunter S. Thompson).
This is where guests load into rafts and begin the advanced stretch of Lower Clear Creek Canyon. This is the steepest, most technical commercially run section of Clear Creek, featuring multiple Class IV–V rapids: Upper Beaver Falls Lower Beaver Falls Guide Ejector Double Knife Hell’s ½ Mile (includes Hell’s Corner and Deep Hell) The Terminators This section drops over 150 vertical feet in less than one mile, producing relentless, high‑gradient whitewater.
The run continues through the canyon toward Golden, ending at the lower end of Clear Creek Canyon Park.
