Join our heritage tour from Mexico City to visit two iconic colonial cities in Puebla. Cholula is the oldest settlement in the Americas inhabited uninterruptedly since the Pre-Hispanic times. It’s also famous for its world’s largest pyramid (by volume). Puebla, in its turn, retains a fantastically well-preserved UNESCO-listed historic center, a stunning cathedral, and a wealth of beautiful colonial buildings.

It is considered the oldest living city in the Americas as its foundation dates back to 500 BC. It is proud to have the largest pyramid in the world at its base, with almost 400 meters on each side. It is also famous for its churches, and it is said that it has 365 churches, one for each day of the year.

It is the capital and its largest city in Puebla. Due to its cultural wealth, it was declared a World Heritage by UNESCO. During your visit, you will admire the architecture of its cathedral and colonial buildings, and you can try typical dishes such as chiles en nogada, mole, cemitas, and camote.

- MINIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: ◘ Small-group tour: We need 3+ participants to confirm the group tour (otherwise, it might be canceled with a full refund 2 days before the tour). ◘ Private tour: 1+ (the tour is 100% confirmed for any group size).
- GROUP SIZE: ◘ Small-group tour: up to 12 travelers. ◘ Private tour: any size (only your group will participate).
- CUSTOMIZATION: ◘ Small-group tour: Not customizable. ◘ Private tour: The tour is customizable which means the time you spend in each destination can be adjusted to your needs. E.g. if you wanna visit a place that is not part of the default itinerary (e.g. attraction, restaurant, or market), you can do it on a complimentary basis if this visit (1) still fits the default duration of the tour and (2) doesn't involve a major change of the route. If both conditions are met, we can shorten the stay at a particular location included in the program of tour so that you have time to visit the place you are interested in. Other changes such as extending the duration of the tour, changing the route, and adding extra participants, should be communicated to the Company at least 48h before the tour and will involve an extra fee.
- WHAT TO TAKE WITH YOU: personal ID (or a copy: digital or in paper); personal travel insurance; comfortable clothes and shoes; hat/cap, sunscreen, and sunglasses (the sun is pretty strong anywhere in Mexico); cash (if you’d like to buy something as not all merchants accept bank cards in Mexico)
- LANGUAGE(S): ◘ Small-group tour: English & Spanish (our guides are bilingual). ◘ Private tour: All our tours are led by local bilingual (at least Spanish & English) guides. Some of them speak other languages (e.g. French, German, Italian, Portuguese) but those depend on availability and cannot be fully guaranteed. Thus, if you want to have your tour in a language other than Spanish or English, please kindly inquire in advance before booking.
- PRICE: Please note that the price you paid includes a commission from the online platform where it’s sold—often up to 30%—which limits our flexibility to offer discounts or other price reductions.
