Get ready for the Mexico Travel Experiences! We will start in Mexico City, the largest city in Latin America where ancient traditions and modern life blend seamlessly. Arrive at any time and take the opportunity to begin exploring this vibrant metropolis before meeting your group and Tour Leader at 6 pm. In the evening, join a welcome meeting followed by dinner at one of the city’s local restaurants, where you can get to know your fellow travelers. This marks the start of our exciting Puerto Escondido Travel adventure.
Spend the morning exploring the Historic Centre of Mexico City with your Tour Leader, including a visit to the renowned National Anthropology Museum to discover the rich cultural heritage of Mexico. In the afternoon, enjoy some free time to explore the city at your own pace or relax as you wish. In the evening, you can join the group for an optional dinner and get-together to share the day’s experiences and connect with fellow travelers.
Start your morning by heading to the colonial city of Cuernavaca, stopping to visit the beautiful El Salto de San Antón waterfall and the Teopanzolco Archaeological Zone along the way. Once in Cuernavaca, enjoy a guided walking tour of the historic center and explore its main attractions. After an optional lunch, continue to the “Magical Town” of Tepoztlán. Here, hike up to Tepozteco, a unique archaeological site perched on a hilltop, famous for its temple dedicated to Tepoztēcatl, the Aztec god of pulque. Later, wander through Tepoztlán’s charming historic center, sampling traditional regional dishes at the municipal market and indulging in the town’s renowned local ice cream. In the evening, check in at your accommodation, then join your group for an optional dinner and get-together at a local restaurant, sharing stories and experiences from the day.
Begin your morning exploring the history and present-day life of Ex-Hacienda de Apanquetzalco. Afterwards, head to Cuautla, a regional hub known for its rich revolutionary history and as the birthplace of Emiliano Zapata. Enjoy a walking tour of Cuautla’s historic center, visit a local railway museum, and explore the nearby house-museum dedicated to Zapata. Next, transfer to Zacualpan, a small town celebrated for its coffee and aguardiente (a sugar cane spirit similar to rum) traditions, where you’ll get to see both in action. Finally, arrive at your accommodation in Atotonilco, a quaint village famous for its numerous hot springs. After check-in, take time to relax in the thermal springs on site. In the evening, enjoy an optional dinner and a get-together with your group at one of the local restaurants.
Begin the fifth day of the Mexico Travel Experiences by exploring the Chalcatzingo Archaeological Zone, where you’ll see impressive 2,000-year-old structures and unique carvings. Next, transfer to the ancient 400-year-old Ex-Convento De Santo Domingo De Guzman in Izucar de Matamoros. Enjoy a guided visit to the convent, an orientation walk of the town, and a taste of local market food. Afterward, head to Destileria Ayutla for a factory tour to learn about the production process and sample some of their main products, including whiskey, gin, vodka, and beers. Finally, continue to the colonial town of Huajuapan de Leon. Check in, take a walking tour of the historic center, and in the evening, enjoy an optional dinner and get-together with your group at one of the local restaurants.
Start your day with a local market breakfast in Huajuapan de León. Then, continue your Oaxaca tour by hiking off the beaten path at Reserva Natural El Boqueron, with a photo stop at Presa de San Francisco Yosocuta. Enjoy a spectacular hike along the steep canyon walls and take an optional swim in a crystal-clear mountain river. After an optional lunch, go for a swim in the stunning Laguna Encantada and explore the hidden San Miguel Caves. In the evening, arrive at Putla Villa de Guerrero, the commercial center for the Mixtecs, Amuzgos, Chatinos, and other indigenous communities. After breakfast, relax at a local river beach near Putla Villa de Guerrero and soak in the natural hot springs of Atotonilco village. Then, continue to Pinotepa Nacional, a cultural center of one of Mexico’s few Afro-Mexican communities. Enjoy a market food experience and an orientation walk through the town center. Next, head to Lagunas de Chacahua National Park, where you can visit a local beach famous for its turtle nesting grounds. Take in the views from an abandoned lighthouse and watch the sunset from atop one of the massive rocks. Check in at your accommodation, enjoy an optional dinner, and cap the day with a magical night boat tour to see the bioluminescence in one of the nearby lagoons
Enjoy a free day in this natural paradise with a variety of activities to choose from. Start with surfing, sunbathing, swimming, or snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters. Join the locals for a morning fishing experience or explore the beach while searching for turtle tracks. For relaxation, indulge in a soothing temazcal ceremony and a rejuvenating massage to complete your day.
Spend your morning relaxing on the beach before checking out at midday. Visit the local crocodile protection center to learn about conservation efforts. Then, continue your Mexico tour by heading to the heart of Puerto Escondido, a port town famous for its beautiful beaches and lively nightlife. Enjoy an optional lunch and take an orientation walk through the town. Later, watch the sunset and participate in the special experience of liberating baby turtles on the local beach. Afterward, transfer to your accommodation at Zicatela Beach, check in, and join the group for an optional farewell dinner and get-together at one of the local bars.
