This experience takes you to Su Nuraxi di Barumini, Sardinia's most celebrated archaeological site, in the rolling landscapes of the Marmilla region. Traveling in a small group, you'll have time for questions and a more personal visit with an expert English-speaking guide.
Su Nuraxi dates back to the second millennium BC. Its central tower once rose to over 60 feet, built from massive basalt blocks without mortar. Around it, four secondary towers and huge walls form an extraordinary complex, surrounded by the remains of an ancient village. Your guide will explain what archaeologists know, and what remains mysterious, about Nuragic society and the legends of the Giants of Sardinia.
After Su Nuraxi, you'll visit Casa Zapata, a 16th-century manor with a surprising secret: an entire nuraghe beneath the building, visible through a glass walkway.
