Learn from women who are keeping these traditions alive, many of whom hail from rural areas in Sarawak. Visit the on-site craft house to see skilled weavers in action, and then, with no prior experience required, create your very own miniature masterpiece.

What to expect
In remote areas of Sarawak, people use the rainforests to make mats, baskets, and bags that are made from rattan vines. Discover how to weave baskets using rattan that is hand-harvested from Sarawak's highlands rainforests. As you create your own hand-plaited mini-rattan artwork, you will receive guidance from a real craft artisan.
**Mini Loom Beading (2 hours)**
Beading became a popular craft as beads were traded. Numerous ethnic groups in Sarawak make exquisite beaded headpieces, jewellery, and costumes. Use the beading loom to learn how to bead. A skilled craftsperson will assist you in creating your own beaded Sarawakian memento.
**Mini Songket Weaving (2 hours)**
The Malay communities use the age-old method of Songket Weaving to create luxurious fabrics for weddings and festivities. Learn how to use a mini-loom to create your own songket keepsake. An authentic Songket weaver will lead you, and you might even get a glimpse of the rich history, culture, and tradition of her people.
