Visit the peaceful sanctuary traditionally associated with the final years of the Virgin Mary. Explore the small stone building and surrounding religious area while your guide explains the site’s historical traditions and importance to Christian visitors. The location remains an active place of pilgrimage, and respectful behavior is required.
Explore the remains of the monumental basilica constructed over the traditional burial place of St. John the Apostle. Your guide will explain the building’s Byzantine architecture, religious importance and relationship with the ancient city of Ephesus. The elevated site also provides views over Selçuk and the surrounding landscape.
Visit İsa Bey Mosque, an important example of medieval Anatolian architecture located near the Basilica of St. John. Learn about the building’s Seljuk-era design, stonework, courtyard and historical setting. Visitor access may be adjusted during prayer times and religious services.

Walk through the archaeological area while your guide explains the city’s Roman and Byzantine history. Walk across the famous white terraces formed by calcium-rich thermal water. Enjoy panoramic views and see the natural pools and mineral formations that gave Pamukkale its name, meaning “Cotton Castle.” Visitors must remove their shoes in designated travertine areas to help protect the natural surface. Water levels and access to individual pools may change according to conservation measures and official operating conditions.
Guests may have free time to see or enter Cleopatra’s Antique Pool when it is open and operational.
