  • Orrido Di Nesso (Pass by)

    Nesso is located halfway along the road that connects Como to Bellagio and is undoubtedly one of the most picturesque and particular villages of Lake Como. The main feature of Nesso is the Orrido, a splendid waterfall that descends from the mountain to plunge into the lake. The best way to admire this corner of paradise is to get closer by boat: you can experience the power of the water up close, almost touching it with your hands.

  • Villa Pliniana (Pass by)

    Villa Pliniana is an ancient Villa, built in 1500 by Giovanni Anguissola, governor of Como, who wanted a Villa-Fortress outside the city. The building was named Villa Pliniana in honor of Pliny, a famous Roman writer, philosopher and governor. Located in a position of extraordinary beauty, Villa Pliniana has hosted over the centuries illustrious personalities such as Napoleon, Stendhal and great opera composers such as Bellini, Rossini and Liszt.

  • Isola Comacina (Pass by)

    Comacina Island was originally a Roman fort and later a medieval settlement. It is the only island on Lake Como and, together with the shore, forms a small and quiet bay. You can visit the archaeological remains following a path in the woods, with entrance fee. Of course, the island can be reached by ferry or private boat. On the island there is La Locanda dell’Isola, a renowned restaurant where you can taste local specialties.

  • Varenna (Pass by)

    Varenna is a charming village on Lake Como, located in the Lecco branch. It is rich in artistic and historical treasures. The village is dominated by the Castle of Vezio, which rises on the top of the mountain behind the picturesque harbor, surrounded by colorful houses. Villa Cipressi and Villa Monastero are two beautiful villas that can be visited; Villa Monastero is particularly famous for its large botanical garden. A romantic Walk of Lovers runs along the shores of this wonderful little village.

  • Villa Del Balbianello (Pass by)

    Without doubt the most spectacular place on Lake Como is Villa del Balbianello. Located on a promontory overlooking the entire lake, the Villa stands out for its architecture perfectly integrated with the surrounding nature. Today known as the “Villa of Star Wars”, Villa del Balbianello was originally a monastery and was later the home of cardinals and noble families. The interior, now used as a museum, houses numerous souvenirs from all over the world. The Villa Owner, Guido Monzino, a famous explorer, collected many objects from his expeditions. The Villa is also famous for being one of the locations for the movie Star Wars – Episode II, and in 2006 also served as the setting for the movie James Bond : Casino Royale. If you wish to live one of the most romantic experiences of your life, make sure to reach the Villa by private boat.
