The route then continues on quiet side roads of the Lucca hills, crossing fields, rows and small rural villages, until you reach the Royal Villa of Marlia, ideal for a break and some photographs

The return follows a complementary itinerary, always on smooth and little traffic, until you find the Serchio cycle path and return to Lucca. A panoramic, accessible and perfect experience for an unhurried half-day

Walking in its center you will discover symbolic places such as Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, the Guinigi Tower and the Cathedral of San Martino, testimonies of over two thousand years of history.

  • Le Mura di Lucca (Pass by)

    Looking around you you can see the Walls of Lucca, one of the most extraordinary examples of Renaissance fortification in Europe. Built between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries to defend the city, they were never involved in sieges and have survived perfectly preserved. Today, transformed into a picturesque tree-lined avenue over four kilometers long, they represent the symbol of the city and an ideal place for walking or cycling.

    The Royal Villa of Marlia is one of the most elegant historical residences in Lucca, surrounded by a beautiful monumental park. Its origins date back to the Middle Ages, but it reached its peak in the nineteenth century when it became the residence of Elisa Bonaparte Baciocchi, Napoleon's sister. Today it is famous for its refined gardens, tree-lined avenues and historic buildings that tell centuries of art and culture.
