Adventure to Hacienda Mucuyche & Oxkintok, 2 cenotes from Mérida

8 to 9 hours (approximately)
Offered in: English and 1 more

We'll start by exploring a fascinating archaeological site where you'll uncover the history and significance of an important Mayan structure, known for its connection to Chichén Itzá. This portion of the tour includes a 1-hour guided visit followed by 30 minutes of free time to explore at your own pace.

Next, we’ll visit Hacienda Mucuyché, a place where history comes alive through its architecture and atmosphere. The hacienda beautifully blends the past with the present, featuring a modern pool and comfortable amenities, while preserving its historical charm through original structures that showcase the passage of time.

One of the highlights is experiencing the harmony between human and natural architecture. You’ll move from one cenote to another—Carlota and Azul Maya—via a stunning canal. Carlota is a semi-open cenote, while Azul Maya is a cavern-style cenote. Both offer the opportunity to swim, snorkel, and immerse yourself in nature.

This labyrinth has three levels that represent the cosmic levels of the Mayan world: celestial, terrestrial, and underworld. During your visit, from the top of the pyramids, you can admire wonderful natural landscapes, hills that are actually unexcavated structures, as well as enjoy sculptures, chultunes (underground huts for storing water), arches, entrances, esplanades, cobblestone paths or sacbés, and fantastic ornamental structures.
