Together with the family, witness the ancient way of cooking chicken BBQ on rocks, which is mostly famous in the south of Oman.     Bahla Fortress is a medieval citadel in the town of Bahla, on the road to Nazwa, in the lower Jebel Akhdar highlands. It is considered the oldest fortress in Oman. It was built of adobe in the XIII-XIV centuries. It is surrounded by a 12-kilometer wall.

    Shems is the highest point in Oman, located in the Al-Akhdar mountain system. It has an elevation of 3018 meters. The mountain is about 30 kilometers north of the city of Bahla. Around the summit is a closed zone, as there is a military radar station on the summit. There is a dirt road leading to it.
