[8:45] Visit Tran Quoc Pagoda located in West Lake, the oldest pagoda in Hanoi built in The 6th century.
[9:30] Visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Complex. See the embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh and his former houses where he lived & worked from 1954 to 1969. Walk around the quiet grounds while hearing about Ho Chi Minh’s life and legacy.
Visit the nearby One Pillar Pagoda. Built in 1049, one of the most iconic temples in Vietnam.
[11:15] Visit the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology (closed on Monday). Browse exhibition of artifacts and infographics portraying the remarkable diversity of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic communities. On Monday, we will visit Vietnamese Women’s Museum instead.
[12:45] Lunch with Vietnamese cuisines.
[14:00] Visit Temple of Literature – the first university of Vietnam (Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam). Built in 1070, this is one of the most attractive tourist spots in Northern Vietnam.
[15:15]: Visit Hoa Lo Prison, built by the French from 1886 to 1901, when Vietnam was still a part of French Indochina. The French called the prison Maison Centrale. The prison was called “A Hell on Earth” and now the prison is like a war museum for those who want to understand more about the war against France of Vietnamese people.
