What is Cyalume Dance? Cyalume Dance is a spectacular performance art from Japan that transforms enthusiastic fan cheers for idols (known as otagei or wotagei) into polished choreography. Performed in the dark with glowing Cyalume sticks, this high-speed dance is a true art form that has not only won the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award in 2019 for its artistry but is also gaining international fame with competitions worldwide!

We provide all the necessary gear. All you need to do is show up in comfy clothes you can easily move in!

Our English-speaking guide and clear video tutorials on a large screen make it easy and enjoyable for everyone to learn.

What to expect

What is Psyllium Dance?
It is a choreography (otagei) to support idols that has been elevated to a performance and uniquely evolved in Japan. Holding psyllium sticks in the dark, the high-speed performances are truly an art form! In 2019, its high artistic value was recognized, and it received the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award. With international competitions being held, it is gaining more and more attention!

・Learn Psyllium Dance moves by renting out the Animate Theater, where popular stage performances are also held!
・With support from English guides and videos displayed on a giant screen, even those who are concerned about the language barrier or are new to Psyllium Dance can feel at ease!
・We will lend out concert lights and psyllium sticks, so you can come empty-handed! Just wear comfortable clothes!
・It is aimed at inbound foreign tourists, but residents of Japan and Japanese people can also participate. Feel free to join with friends who are visiting Japan!
