The Saigon Opera House is a prominent example of French colonial architecture in Ho Chi Minh City, completed in 1900. This historic venue has served various roles throughout its history, including a temporary shelter during the Vietnam War and a legislative assembly, before being restored to its original purpose as a cultural performance space to host a variety of shows, including the acclaimed A O Show.
The Saigon People's Committee Building, originally known as Hôtel de Ville, is reminiscent of the Hôtel de Ville in Paris. After the reunification of Vietnam in 1975, it was repurposed as the headquarters for the People's Committee, symbolizing the transition from colonial rule to an independent government.
