2 hours (approximately)
Offered in: English and 1 more

This is a highly recommended activity for travellers to Japan because they can create their own souvenir of their trip. During the workshop, we will teach how to paint with special ceramic paints, and participants will be able to choose from traditional Japanese designs.

There are also images representing iconic Japanese culture, as well as the possibility to write the person's name in Japanese alphabet.

As the activity is conducted in English, Spanish or Catalan (unlike other pottery-related workshops that do not offer this option), the traveller will be able to ask questions about the country and receive detailed instructions on how to decorate the pieces.

-Create a souvenir of your trip to Japan
-Learn to paint ceramics with an instructor who has studied in Osaka
-Enjoy a private class, exclusively for you
-Feel a traditional art while talking about Japanese culture
-Get a small dish and a chopstick holder as a gift

**The pieces are sent to the participant's home address.

Meeting and pickup

Meeting point

We will meet at JR TERADACHO station, NORTH EXIT. A staff has a signboard "CERAMICS TOCOTON". -If you are going to be more than 15 minutes late, please make sure to contact us. Being more than 15 minutes late will be considered a no-show.

End point
This activity ends back at the meeting point.

What to expect

-Pick up at JR Teradacho Station, north exit.

In the workshop, we will paint a ceramic dish with Japan-related designs with a brush.

You can choose from traditional designs or images from Japanese culture, such as Mount Fuji, sushi, a sakura tree, etc. You can also write the desired word in kanji (Japanese ideogram).

The pieces made during the workshop are sent to the participant's home after firing (shipping costs are not included).

The workshops are taught in Spanish, Catalan or English. Unlike the other experiences related to ceramics, this is the only one in Spanish or Catalan.

The course price includes a small plate and a chopstick rest, handmade for your use with traditional Japanese design and materials. You can take it with you on the day you come to the studio.

The workshop is a century-old house located in the south of the city of Osaka. It is a non-touristy area, where you can taste the "real Osaka". The route from the station to the workshop shows a Showa-era Osaka that does not appear in the tourist guides.

- It takes about 1 month and a half to ship your pottery. (Shipping fee is not included)
