    From here, enjoy panoramic views of the volcanic crater, Lagoa das Furnas, and the lush green landscape. In the evening, soft lights from the village and rising geothermal steam create a calm and mysterious atmosphere

    See hot springs, columns of steam coming out of the ground. You can taste the sparkling water from the springs.

    You will see Furnas Lake. Nearby you can visit the fumaroles. Learn about volcanic activity in the area, environmental aspects, the traditional dish of cozido and a love story.

    Poca da Dona Beija

    One of the highlights of the evening is a relaxing visit to the famous thermal pools of Poça da Dona Beija. Hidden in lush gardens in the heart of Furnas Valley, these naturally heated geothermal pools offer one of the most unique bathing experiences in the Azores. At night, the atmosphere becomes even more special — soft lights reflect on the warm mineral-rich water while steam rises gently into the cool island air. The volcanic water, naturally heated underground to about 39°C (102°F), is rich in iron and minerals and known for its relaxing properties. Surrounded by tropical plants and volcanic stone pools, visitors can unwind in a calm and intimate setting. Bathing time is approximately an hour and a half, allowing you to fully enjoy this peaceful and atmospheric thermal experience.
