Your journey begins at the ancient Burana Complex, where the iconic Burana Tower stands as a testament to the region's rich history. Wander through the open-air archaeological museum, where the past comes to life before your eyes. From there, we'll venture to the stunning Song Kul Lake, a hidden gem surrounded by rolling hills and alpine meadows. Here, you'll step into the world of Kyrgyz nomads—meet local shepherds, savor authentic traditional cuisine, and, as night falls, be mesmerized by the brilliance of the starry sky. This tour offers not just a glimpse but a full immersion into the cultural and historical treasures of Kyrgyzstan, set against a backdrop of breathtaking natural beauty.
We can pick you up for the tour from your hotel or, if you're arriving on the same day, meet you at the airport. If we meet at the airport, we'll have a sign with your name. If picking you up from the hotel, we'll confirm the time and wait for you in the lobby or at the entrance.
We will depart early in the morning from Bishkek to begin our journey to Song Kul Lake. On the way, we will make a stop at the historic Burana Tower and open-air historical and archaeological museum.
Scenic stop at the stunning Orto-Tokoy reservoir. After a long drive, we'll stretch our legs and take in the breathtaking views.
We’ll head to Son-Kul via the most popular and easily accessible pass — Kalmak-Ashuu (on the northeastern side of the lake). We’ll stop there as well to breathe in the fresh mountain air and enjoy the stunning alpine scenery."
We’ll arrive at the lake by evening. Before dinner, you can take a walk along the lakeshore and admire the beautiful meadows filled with edelweiss and other wildflowers. If you enjoy horseback riding, you can rent a horse for a ride. At night, after 10 PM, the lights are turned off everywhere, and on a clear night, you can marvel at the stunning starry sky and the Milky Way at an altitude of 3016 meters above sea level.
After breakfast at the yurt camp, you will have free time to explore the beautiful surroundings of Song Kul Lake. Take a leisurely walk around the lake, go horse riding, or embark on an easy hike. You can also simply relax and take in the stunning natural scenery. At 14:30, we will depart from Song Kul Lake and make our way back to Bishkek.
