The tour at the Miraflores Visitor Center offers a fascinating experience to get up close and personal with the workings of the Panama Canal. During the visit, you'll be able to watch the huge ships transit through the Miraflores Locks, where the water level is raised or lowered to allow the ships to pass. The Center also has a theater where you can watch an Imax film documented about the historical construction of the canal and its economic importance. In addition, there is an observation deck with a spectacular panoramic view and, in some cases, you'll be able to see the ships crossing in real time.
