    Agra Fort

You will be driven to the nearby Agra Fort, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, after your visit of the Taj Mahal. constructed from red sandstone between 1565 and 1573. Up until the Mughals seized it during the Mughal Dynasty until 1638, when the capital was moved from Agra to Delhi, it served as the primary palace for the Sikarwar clan of Rajput monarchs. Other names for it included "Lal-Qila," "Fort Rouge," and "Qila-i-Akbari." Behind its 2.5 km-long encircling walls, this majestic red sandstone castle houses the imperial palace of the Mughal rulers. It has a number of fantastical palaces, such as Shah Jahan's wonders, the Jahangir Palace and the Khas Mahal, as well as two fine mosques and audience halls like the Diwan-i-Khas.
