The first stop on our itinerary takes us to the magnificent Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano, the mother of all churches and the oldest and most important papal basilica in Rome.

3Basilica e Monastero Agostiniano Santi Quattro Coronati
The Basilica of the Holy Four Crowned is a Roman Catholic church dedicated to the four Christian martyrs: Claudius, Nicostratus, Simplicio and Castorius. You will visit the basilica which dates back to the fourth century and has a unique architectural structure, with a central nave and two side aisles. The church contains frescoes and works of art of great value, including those of the Chapel of St. Sylvester. There is a beautiful medieval cloister with carved columns and capitals.
