Discover Matera in complete freedom with a private excursion designed to offer you comfort, flexibility and assistance throughout the day. A Pro driver will pick you up directly in Salerno or on the Amalfi Coast and accompany you in an air-conditioned vehicle. Upon arrival you will receive paper material with a suggested itinerary, main attractions, viewpoints and a selection of typical restaurants. You will have about 5 hours to explore the Sassi independently and experience Matera at your own pace. Round-trip transfer is reserved exclusively for your group.

Meeting and pickup
Pick-up is available at hotels, villas, apartments, ports and vehicle-accessible points in Salerno and the locations on the Amalfi Coast included in the booked option.
Enter the full name and address of the Accommodation or Pick-Up Point. If the property is located in a pedestrian zone, ZTL or in a street not accessible to vehicles, we will notify the nearest authorized meeting point.
We ask you to be ready 10 minutes before the agreed time. At the end of the excursion you will be taken back to the same starting point.
Meeting in front of the main entrance of Salerno Station, in Piazza Vittorio Veneto. Show up 10 minutes early. The driver will contact you via WhatsApp within 2 hours before the tour to confirm the time and define the exact location.

Departure from the agreed pick-up point and direct transfer to Matera in a private, air-conditioned car or minivan. The journey takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes from Salerno. For departures from different locations on the Amalfi Coast, the duration may increase depending on distance, traffic and road conditions. There are no tourist stops along the way. If necessary, guests can ask the driver for a short service stop at an autogrill, consistent with the itinerary and conditions of the trip. Any stop could extend the duration of the transfer.

2Matera
Upon arrival in Matera you will receive paper information material with a suggested itinerary, the main attractions, the panoramic points and a selection of typical restaurants. You will have about 5 hours of free time to explore the city on your own and walk through the Sasso Caveoso, Sasso Barisano, Civita, Piazza Vittorio Veneto and the characteristic alleys carved into the rock. Depending on your interests, you can visit cave houses, cave churches, the Long Diver, the Cathedral and local craft shops or stop for lunch at one of the recommended restaurants. The visits indicated are optional. Any entrance fees, meals and guided tours are not included. At the end of the free time you will meet the driver at the place and time agreed for the return journey.

The route continues around Potenza and along the Basento Valley, crossing a territory characterized by woods, hills, small towns and picturesque rural landscapes. Approaching Matera, the landscape changes again, leaving room for the expanses and plateaus of Murgia. The places described are observed during the transfer and do not include stops or visits. Actual route may vary depending on pick-up point, traffic and road conditions. On request, the driver can make a short service stop at a motorway grid.
